BIG SWEEP WAS HELD IN OCTOBER
2011 Big Sweep/ Litter Sweep UPDATE
Keep Belmont Beautiful Volunteers met at 9 AM on the first Saturday in October at Stowe Park
for the Annual Big Sweep/Litter Sweep. KBB organizes the Belmont event with help from the City of Belmont.
In 2011 our 169 volunteers collected 165 bags of trash. Volunteers cleaned throughout the city and the boat landing at the river.
David Isenhour, Director of Public Works estimated that the bags amounted to 3,300 lbs of litter!
KBB appreciates our volunteers who helped make BIG SWEEP 2011 a huge success!
The 2011 BIG SWEEP volunteers came from different groups. They were:
ROTC - South Point High School, Boy Scout Troop 56 - Park Street, Girl Scout Troop 72 - Park Street,
Girl Scout Troop 2133 - Queen of Apostles,Girl Scout Troop - 293 - First Presbyterian, Boy Scout Troop - 58 - First United Methodist,
North Belmont Elementary Green Team, Belmont Middle School Beta Club,
Park Street Youth Group, Boy Scout Troop 501, Belmont Police Department, Belmont Fire Department
and many individual volunteers came out to help with the clean up.
